Due Date trailer

How do you follow up The Hangover? With a Planes, Trains and Automobiles rip-off, by the looks of it…

Fresh from directing the biggest comedy box office hit in years in the shape of The Hangover, for his next movie, Todd Phillips looks like he’s been watching Planes, Trains and Automobiles on loop for a while.

For it’s the Steve Martin/John Candy classic that seems to have formed the basis of the idea of Due Date, which sees Robert Downey Jr and Zach Galifianakis on a reluctant road trip.

The first trailer for the film has now arrived, ahead of its release in November this year. And aside from the fact that it, er, barely seems to have a laugh in it, it looks just dandy.
