The last time we saw Val Kilmer in a comedy, the end result was the brilliant Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. This summer, he’s one of the headline stars of action-comedy MacGruber, which is picking up solid advance word of mouth.
It’s the latest movie to spin out of Saturday Night Live – with the trailer making the point that it’s the best SNL film since Wayne’s World (the competition is fierce there, clearly), and it’s happily going for an R-rating in the States. That’s a good thing.
This, then, is the new US trailer for the film, which is arriving over there on 21 May, but not making it to the UK until later in the year. Looks promising…
