Dinner For Schmucks trailer

Paul Rudd and Steve Carell join forces for what could be one of the best comedies of the year…

This one looks promiseing.

Paul Rudd, with the right material, is a comedy genius. Steve Carell, as those who watched the earlier seasons of the US remake of The Office can testify, is also a comedy genius. In face, his turn as Brick Tamland in Anchorman remains one of that film’s highlights for us.

Thus, the bringing together of Rudd and Carell in the same high profile comedy seems like a good plan from where we’re sitting. Throw in Austin Powers trilogy director Jay Roach, and it’s hard to grumble at the state of the ingredients.

The film in question is Dinner For Schmucks, a remake of a 1990s French comedy where Rudd ends up bringing Carell to dinner. Only it’s not going to be a straightforward evening out…
