I wouldn't wear really short skirts when I'm jumping around but I can wear really sexy stuff - it depends on my mood

The Belgians managed an impressive second in the Eurovision Song Contest - as opposed to our own dismal 'nil point' entry - but we'd rather leave them in charge of chocolate and beer than music.

That was until we came across Lasgo. A three-piece dance outfit that emerged from Belgium's club scene. With their addictive debut single 'Something', they have proceeded to storm into top 10s and clubs all over Europe. It helps their cause that their pop-trance is fronted by the frankly gorgeous Evi Goffin, possibly the finest thing to come out of Antwerp since... er... Pieter Paul Rubens.

You'll have your chance to see her in action when she graces the stage at Maxim's 100th issue parties across the country - and the good news is she's looking forward to it. 'The crowds in the UK are the best we've had,' she says. 'They appreciate what you do and show it by singing and yelling and reaching up and trying to poke your eyes out. Accidentally, of course.'

Evi started her singing career in a choir, and was belting out Roxette songs in karaoke bars with her mum when she was discovered. Her act has changed a bit now and she looks to Christina Aguilera as something of a role model. 'She looks great. I read these magazines saying she's the worst dressed celebrity, or that she's always naked - but she's got the figure for it, so she might as well show it off. I don't think it's bad taste. She's just got the guts to do it.'

So would Evi step out in the same skimpy attire as Ms Aguilera? 'Oh yes. I wouldn't wear really short skirts when I'm jumping around but I can wear really sexy stuff - it depends on my mood.' So just hope she's on top form when she comes to a venue near you soon.
