Hats off to Russian dolls Lena Katina and Julia Volkova, aka tATu. Not only did they become the first Russkies to top the British charts but in the process delivered copious amounts of nubile girl-on-girl action to our Saturday morning TV screens.
As our exclusive photo reveals, the charttoppers celebrated success by getting matching tattoos. Originally, both wanted 'Free Chechnya' etched on their alabaster skin but were persuaded to settle for the less controversial Arabic version of 'love'. Although admittedly it looks more like a tribute to ex-President Gorbachev's 'beetroot stain'.
But is tATu's eastern brand of lipstick lesbianism a cynical marketing exercise? Quite possibly. But frankly who cares when such cynicism involves videos of them cavorting in school uniforms, flirting, kissing and fiddling with each other in the bath. Just be thankful Robson and Jerome didn't hit on the idea first.
