Did you like shooting with Louise?
It was really good! Actually, I’d met her before. My first shoot for my portfolio was in Marbella and that was the first time I met her. We were very excited when we saw each other. She is amazing at what she does so she was giving me pointers, which helped because she does it so well.
If you could trade one of Louise’s features for one of yours, which would it be?
I’d just have her. All of her! But I think her best feature is her piercing blue eyes. They’re the first thing you notice about her. They’re gorgeous.
If you were a lady lover, would Louise be your type?
We were talking about this on the shoot! Louise does topless and I had to be covered up. I’d be pressing my boobs against hers and we’d just look at each other, going, ‘Oh my God! What are we doing?’ Yeah, I’d have to go for someone naturally pretty like Louise, or Eva Longoria.
Would you ever do topless?
At the moment, no. But in the future, who knows?
Do you think you’ll be as successful as Louise?
Louise is so successful. She’s got something different about her, but I’d like to think so.
You and Louise are both northerners. Are girls from the North just fitter than southerners?
I don’t know – I think northerners tend to be far better! We just look after ourselves way better. Good genes up there.
Why do brunettes do much better in Miss Maxim than blondes?
I think brunettes are more naturally beautiful. I think a few years ago it was all about blondes but brunettes are coming back up I think. I just think brunettes are better looking.
Do you find blokes are too scared to approach you?
They are a bit, yeah. I’ve found when talking to some guys they can be a bit nervous. I’m like, ‘Don’t be nervous! It’s only me!’
Are you single?
Yes.
Are you looking for a boyfriend?
I’m not, no. I’m concentrating on my modelling for a bit.
What’s the best thing about being single?
The freedom – I did have a boyfriend when I moved to London… but I don’t any more. Being able to flirt with people!
What’s the worst thing a man can do in bed?
My dad will read this! I like the bed to myself, so it’s if he was to dare come over to my side. Even if it’s a double bed I usually sleep diagonally. And he can’t drag the covers off me, either. I’m usually the one who hogs the covers.
You prefer to sleep alone then?
No, I like to have a hug – then as long as they don’t come onto my bit I don’t mind.
If you were at a boring party how would you liven it up?
I love dancing so I’d turn on some dance music and pull a few people up. Once I sang karaoke when I was really, really drunk. I’ll never do that again. It was to Queen or something. Everyone clapped, but when I got offstage I tripped over the wire and fell on my arse. Too many vodkas.
Finally, what’s your ambition?
It was to be in a good magazine and I’ve done that in six months. Now it’d just be nice to be noticed. ‘Ooh, look – there’s Rachael Cordingley.’ I like the idea of acting and presenting and stuff. I love trying different things so anything that’s thrown at me, I’ll give it a go.Louise
Did you enjoy your year as Miss Maxim UK 2006?
I had a really good year. I did loads of work with Maxim, which was fantastic – I did the milky bath shoot, I did the Miss Maxim Special front cover with Lucy [Pinder], which was great, I did the supplement shoot in Ibiza…
Why do you think you won?
Because I’m a normal, down-to-earth person. But you’ve also got to be a bit decent looking, haven’t you? You can’t be a minger.
‘A bit decent looking’?! You’re hot!
OK, put that then. I didn’t want to sound like a big head.
Do people recognise you?
I’ve started to get it a bit. I’ll be in a club and someone will say, ‘Are you Louise Cliffe?’ and I’ll be like, ‘God, yeah I am!’
What’s so far been your most extravagant purchase as a model?
I bought an iMac notebook. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done. It’s compact and good for travelling.
So you can chat to all your fans on MySpace?
I was going to get rid of my MySpace. I keep getting all this hate mail. People saying I’m ugly and I’ve got fake tits and stuff. I haven’t got fake ones. What are they on about? I don’t need that.
Are men scared to approach you?
Some boys can get intimidated, but I don’t know why. I hate it when blokes just stare. It makes me feel dead uncomfortable. Don’t just stand there and stare; ask me a question or something.
Which models have you liked working with most?
Lucy Pinder is lovely. She’s a really nice girl. Imogen Gray is fantastic – and I loved working with Rachael too.
Why do you think Rachael won Miss Maxim UK 2007?
She’s really nice, she’s got a different look and lovely dark hair. There’s dark-haired models out there, but not many. Actually, she looks quite similar to me.
If you could have one of Rachael’s features, would what it be?
Her lovely bum. It’s so cute!
Did you mind touching Rachael’s boobs on the shoot?
It was really funny – her boobs were dead cold.
So you warmed them up with yours?
Yeah. Ha ha!
Have you got any advice for her?
Don’t do things you don’t want to do. Stay grounded and don’t let it get to your head.
What about bathing in milk?
