So has Tel imparted any words of wisdom in her quest to launch a TV career? 'Never ever, under any circumstances, take your clothes off,' she flashes back. What does the old duffer know anyway? 'It's actually been quite weird growing up in a showbiz family,' she laughs. 'As soon as people realise my family connections the first thing they ask is, 'Does Terry wear a wig?' So before you ask, the answer is no he doesn't.' Convincing brush-overs run in the family then.
Having dabbled in modelling in her native Ireland, Jane's break came after she made an impressive showreel of herself. 'I ended up running around Dublin, asking shoppers if they thought I should have a boob job,' she squeals. 'I was sticking tissues down my top asking if that made my boobs look better but everyone was so sweet, most of them said I was fine as I was.' More like pretty damn marvellous from where we're sitting.
'I've done a few screen tests where they get you to interact with the male presenter, encouraging you to get all touchy and flirty,' she continues. 'And I have to say, I'm very good at that. When I'm out drinking, a few glasses of red wine and I turn into a monster flirt.' So what sort of lucky chaps get on the receiving end of her charms? 'Ooh, men in uniforms,' she purrs. 'And sporty men with big hands and scars and broken bones. Maybe I should forget bars and clubs and hang out at the Casualty department.'
An old hand at working on kiddies TV in Ireland, Ms Wogan's sights are now set a little higher. 'I'd love to do the sort of stuff that Davina McCall's into like chucking myself out of helicopters. I'm bang up for all that action stuff. I recently crashed a speedboat into a rock and nearly killed this guy. People were screaming and the boat was a write-off but I walked away laughing. I guess I'm a really active girl - I do loads of boxing training and I love just about every sport going. I'm really not interested in just sitting behind a desk wearing nice clothes.'
Great. Lie down and take them off for us again.
