Trying to pick a Miss Maxim winner out of hundreds of sexy women initially seemed like trying to fit Peter Crouch into a bum-bag – an impossible task. Suddenly, though, the Maxim judges panel spotted 21-year-old Rachael Cordingley nestled in the crowd of lovelies and knew they’d found their champion. Super-sexy and probably the most excitable girl in the whole of Britain, Rachael is a worthy successor to last year’s winner, Louise Cliffe. Soon she’ll be jetting off to Thailand to compete for the worldwide Miss Maxim title against the winners of all the foreign editions of Maxim – but first it’s time for her victory photoshoot. This girl is going to be a superstar!

Congratulations, Rachael. How does it feel to be Miss Maxim?
It feels really good! I was really surprised but very excited!
How was the shoot?
It went really well. It was in a hotel, and I wore really sexy underwear! I enjoyed it loads.
Why do you think you won?
I guess I’m not your ordinary-looking model. I’d like to think I’m a little bit different from everyone else.
How are you going to celebrate? Throw a party, or run down the street naked with a copy of Maxim on your head?
Maybe not naked! But I will buy a few copies and make sure people notice me in it! I can’t wait to tell my friends. I think they’re all going to be really surprised. It’s the first proper magazine I’ve been in. I only moved down from Liverpool about six months ago, so this is really big for me. I’ll probably go out and party with all my girlfriends.
How can a bloke pull you?
Be funny! I love to laugh, so if you’re not funny you won’t get anywhere! And be yourself, too – there’s nothing worse than someone who tries to act big and thinks he’s all that.
Would you be flattered or offended if an ugly guy tried it on?
That’s an awful thing to say! You know what – if he made me laugh and had a really lovely personality, it’d be all right. Er… actually, how ugly do you mean?
Proper ugly…

As our UK winner, Rachael will jet off to Thailand for the global finals of Miss Maxim. There she'll attend parties, have a stunning photoshoot and compete against 20 other winners from our foreign editions for the overall Miss Maxim title. If she wins the crown, she'll get a 0,000 international modelling contract with IMM in London and Major Milan in Italy! Keep your fingers crossed for our girl.
