You've just finished filming Phantom of the Opera - did you get to wear the mask?

Don't be daft. Minnie Driver and Amanda Richardson are in it and I played Meg, the lead's best friend. It was a great part because I got to do loads of soprano singing and ballet dancing.
Have you given up on the pop career now you're a film star?
Definitely not. I've got an album coming out in April and I really want to give it a go because that's always been an ambition of mine. And the record company were really good in giving me time off for the film, so it's full steam ahead.
Any rock'n'roll moments, now that you're a bit of a music diva?
I've come close to trashing hotel rooms - not deliberately. But we've had a few parties where all kinds of people have turned up and things have got broken.
You seem to be good at dance. Ever considered pole dancing?
Why would I have had to do that? I had a job in Brookside, remember. I don't think my boyfriend would mind if I gave it a go, but I haven't got a pole. I'd have to dance round the lamppost in our road, but unfortunately I'm not that much of an exhibitionist.
Is it true you're big mates with Jordan?
Yeah, we're mates and she's a lovely girl. People tend to believe what they read in the press but she's nothing like that. Funnily enough I was asked to go on this series of I'm A Celebrity... but I turned it down because I just couldn't stand the thought of eating bugs. It's a shame really because me and her would have had some fun out there.
What's the most expensive piece of lingerie you've bought?
Oh, I can go crazy about underwear. I once spent 400 on a set of bra and knickers. I don't go for all that tacky PVC stuff or those all-in-ones. A nice, classy bra and small knickers will do me. The more expensive the better. And they have to be white.
