Your new film is National Lampoon's Van Wilder. Were you a big fan of the old Lampoon classics Animal House and Vacation?

Oh, yeah, I really love all those. And Van Wilder definitely deserves the National Lampoon title. It's a classic college movie.

You don't mind a bit of gross-out humour then?

After growing up with brothers? No. Some stuff is gross, like in Van Wilder there's something about a bulldog's giant testicles and a basket of eclairs that makes the pastry gag in American Pie look like nothing. Some people will definitely be offended by it, but I can see the funny side.

The title character's a real party animal, but your character is pretty reserved. A little different from American Pie?

Completely. She's conservative and mean, and I'm so not like that, so it was cool to play her. I mean, she works for the school paper, and she's standing around at parties with a notepad in her hand. But she eventually learns to let loose a little.

Are you looking for more grown-up parts these days?

I don't limit myself, but it's a natural progression. Right now I like to laugh, so comedies are great, but the next film I do, I wouldn't mind a good, serious drama. I'm just looking for the right one. I definitely want to start being the leading lady.

So does this mean an end to the nude scenes, then?

I'd definitely do nudity again if it makes sense for the character. I'm not saying to rip your shirt off and run around for no reason, but if it's right for the moment, who cares?

Do you believe in one-night stands?

Yes, if you don't treat the person like shit afterwards. Like when you're friends with someone and all of a sudden you have sex. That doesn't have to mess things up. You can keep being friends, and the sex can be a benefit.
