'Well, the show is a mish-mash of funny skits and different guest slots. So we've got celebrity guests like Darryl Hannah, then we've got people like Mr Balloon Head, who can put his head inside a balloon. And Mr Twinkle, who's a dog and a model. There are lots of weird freaks in LA, so I'm kind of representing them.'

So how has she found our Vernon to work with? 'He is such a doll. We're really working well together. I find anybody with a British accent charming - every word they say sounds better. He ordered a cheeseburger the other day - because of the way he said it, I wanted one.'

In a tribute to her co-host's nationality, Nikki appears to have draped herself in the cross of St George. All rise, gents, for the national anthem.
