You'd think that if you had Sienna Miller as a flatmate, you'd put up with all manner of domestic trouble - unpaid bills, piled-up washing-up, crumbs in the margarine, even pubic hair on the soap.
Apparently it's not that simple. As the gorgeous eye candy in Sky One's latest US import, fish-out-of-water cop comedy Keen Eddie, Sienna co-habits uncomfortably with a grizzled New York City cop who's been sent to London to clean up a drug bust he screwed up on his side of the pond.
'This Eddie moves into my flat,' explains the New York-born, London-raised Sienna. 'My mother rents the place out to him, thinking I'm away at university. He shows up, and he threatens to tell on me if I don't let him stay. Of course, he has a dog and I have a cat. They fight; we fight.' This Eddie must be mad.
So how did the traffic-stoppingly gorgeous actress win this breakthrough role? By accident, it turns out. 'When I auditioned, I'd just got back from spending Valentine's Day weekend in Rome,' she explains. 'I was completely in love and I just walked into the audition with a "whatever" attitude. Executive producer Simon West (Lara Croft: Tomb Raider) later said he called me back because I gave the impression that I didn't care whether or not I got the part.'
Sold on her apathy, West determined Sienna was perfect for the part. After all, she actually had sexy roommate stories of her own. 'I went to an all-girls boarding school. We used to do stupid, fun girly things like pull tights over our faces and streak through the LaCrosse pitch.'
But our favourite boarding school story, involves Sienna, a horny mutt, and the Domino's Pizza man.
'I was really sick one day, so I ordered a pizza. I was wearing nothing but a T-shirt, when I got up to answer the door. Now, I had this big spaniel. So I'm standing there ready to pay the man when the dog starts humping my leg! I turn around, and before I know it he's pulled my shirt up around my head. And I've got no knickers on! So I'm standing there with my bare bum in the pizza guy's face! I just threw the money at him and shut the door.
After that, whenever Domino's came around, they'd walk by my room and snigger.' Wouldn't surprise us if she also started getting pizzas she hadn't ordered...
