Onslow-Cole shrugs off shunt Tom Onslow-Cole has shrugged off his monster accident in today's third HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship round at Brands Hatch as "one of those things".
The 20-year-old had starred in the day's first two races on his VX Racing debut with seventh and sixth place finishes.
But on the opening lap of race three his Vauxhall Vectra VXR smashed at high speed into the barriers following contact with Gordon Shedden's Team Halfords Honda Civic - which itself had just been brushed by Jason Plato's SEAT Leon TDI as the pack squeezed together along Cooper Straight.
The front end of Onslow-Cole's car was wrecked, but the Kingston driver - who climbed out of his car without injury - refused to apportion any blame.
He said: "I was an innocent bystander. Gordon (Shedden) had the racing line and the SEAT pushed into him causing me to crash. It's just one of those things.
"I'm feeling a bit sore but I'm OK. Overall it's been a good weekend and I'm feeling quite comfortable in the team now. We found a lot of pace in the car and it's looking good for the rest of the season."
Despite the crash, Onslow-Cole has come away from Brands lying ninth in the championship standings overall.
