I’ve just started windsurfing but my legs get tired quickly. How can I improve my endurance?

Jason Anderson replies: When windsurfing, your legs work hard to stabilise the body, your arms work to control the sail and your core tries to hold it all together. An exercise that mimics this is the split squat to cable pull. Stand facing a cable pulley with a bar attachment set at chest height. Get into a split squat position, which replicates the position of your feet on the board. Start upright then lower your body by bending your knees while reaching forward with the bar. Pause briefly at the bottom and then drive up through the hips, pulling the bar into your chest at the same time. This will really hit the glutes and thighs while the arms pull on an imaginary sail. Repeat this 15-20 times.
