I’ve read that cardio training is no good for burning fat. Is this true?

Matt Hart replies: No, not really. The amount of fat you burn depends on the intensity and duration of the exercise. Brisk walking is a fantastic fat burner but you have to walk for a long time to achieve significant fat loss. Our time is limited, so shorter, high-intensity workouts are more practical. While high-intensity workouts burn less fat as you perform them, they burn more calories in total once you take into account the carbohydrate reserves they use up. As long as you eat fewer calories than you burn, you will achieve a net loss of fat. It’s all about calories in and calories out, whatever exercise you do.
