What are my prospects as a personal trainer?

I am a qualified nurse and would like to train to be a personal trainer or sports therapist, but I do not know what prospects the industry holds, such as starting salaries or work patterns. I would be grateful if you could enlighten me.

Andrew Pinnell at Premier Training replies: As a qualified nurse you obviously have a working knowledge of the human body and an understanding of health issues. This is a good starting point for a career as either a personal trainer or a sports therapist, but to enter the fitness industry a specialist qualification is required. Many such courses are available and range from short weekend workshops to intensive three-month courses such as the Premier Diploma in Personal Training.
Having completed a course, it is fair to say that most students do not struggle to get a job at least on the gym floor. Salaries are regarded as low, but there is an upward trend emerging. A fitness instructor can now expect to earn between
