Verbal Kint

Perhaps the most famous limper the silver screen has ever seen, Verbal Kint was part-pathetic part-demonic part-spastic in 1995’s  brilliant The Usual Suspects. Was any of his story real? Did he just change the names? Was he really in a barber shop quartet in Illinois? Only Bryan Singer knows.

Heather Mills

Former model, porn actress and compulsive liar who looks stupid most of the time but especially when she's in fields frolicking with dogs. Lost her leg six inches below the knee when she was knocked over by a police motorcycle in London. She also campaigns against seals being clubbed to death. Though it is rumoured she supplies the ecstasy and repetitive electronica. (Boom boom.)

Ian Dury

Polio-infected stage-owning New Wave legend who wrote ace stuff like "I had a love affair with Nina, In the back of my Cortina. A seasoned-up hyena, Could not have been more obscener". He also penned "Spasticus Autisticus" to show his savage disdain for that year's  International Year of Disabled Persons, which he thought was dead patronising and stuff.

The Terminator

Sent from the future to fuck up the past, this remorseless single-minded cybernetic lunatic, once deskinned in a horrific human-frying truckwreck, develops an incredibly sinister sliding limp, kills the future saviour's dad and then gets crushed in an industrial press, leaving only his arm intact so people can invent him in the future. Nutter.

Long John Silver

Feared fictional sea dog from the pen of the mighty Robert Louis Stephenson who was actually inspired by his real-life friend, William Henley, a writer and editor. Had a gammy leg and a pet parrot called Captain Flint, so he did.

Paul Sheldon (Misery)

Brilliant Stephen King adaption with James Caan as famous novelist Paul Sheldon being nursed back to health by nicer-than-nice crackpot Annie Wilkes (Kathy Bates) after a car accident, who makes him rewrite his manuscript and eventually edits his ankles with a sledgehammer.

Seamus

Whilst sharing a steam room with Family Guy's Peter and co, it turns out our limping old sea dog’s whole body is made totally of wood. Had his own talkshow in ‘Perfect Castaway’ and is pretty decent on the ivories (see above).

Kunta Kinte

African tribesman turned Virgina plantation slave who, after being apprehended during the last of his four escape attempts, is given a choice: be castrated or have his right foot cut off. He chooses to have his foot cut off. A limp ensues. Poor fella.

David Buust

We don’t actually know if he has a limp now and frankly we were too lazy to find out. The point here is that HE SHOULD HAVE. Without doubt the most horrific injury the Premier League has ever beheld.

Dawn of the Dead zombies

All zombies have got a sinister limp going on, haven’t they?
