The Most Corrupt Game in Football?

Brazilian Division 2 side Viana needed to win 11-0 to secure promotion. Guess what, they did!

If you're going to 'cheat' in football, you'd need to make it as convicing as possible. Earlier this month on 16 October 2009, Brazilian league 2 side VIANA needed an 11-0 victory against rivals Chapadinha to secure promotion. Shockingly, they managed to score NINE goals in NINE minutes towards the end of the match. Some of the goals even look suspiciously offside, too!

Call us wry old cynics, but surely this just seems too good to be true. Or maybe Viana really are a very, very good side with supreme beings as season ticket holders. And Chapadinha are just, well, awful...

Stranger things have happened!
