With a 207mph top speed, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren roadster is one of the fastest cars in the world, and routinely kicks sand in the face of Ferraris and Lamborghinis - but then so would you if you had a 5.5-litre supercharged V8 that could pump out a massive 626bhp and catapult you from 0-60mph in just 3.8 seconds.

As a bonus, the cabin's acoustics have been specially designed so you can still hold a conversation with the roof down, even while pottering along at a stately 130mph, meaning your passenger's terrified screams will come through loud and clear.
