Liam Gallagher's revered clothing label, Pretty Green, will play host in their Carnaby Street sotre to an exclusive Quadrophenia exhibition in anticipation of the release of ‘Quadrophenia: The Director’s Cut’ boxset, due for release on November 14th via Universal Music Catalogue.
Pretty Green have designed a limited edition parka made legendary by London mod ‘Jimmy’ on the cover of The Who’s seminal album and will also showcase Pete Townshend’s archives of notes, desk diaries, photos and original lyrics from the making of ‘Quadrophenia’ alongside album artwork and outtakes in a never been seen before exhibition.
Liam stated: “As I’m a massive fan of The Who, and Quadrophenia being one of my favourite albums of all time, it’s an honour to be associated.”
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get up close to Pete Townshend’s work and his inspirations behind the making of the seminal album, so don’t miss it. The exhibition will take place in the Pretty Green flagship store in London’s Carnaby Street and opens to the public on Thursday 27th October and will run until January 31st 2012.
To honour the album and its contribution to mod culture, legendary scooter company Vespa has also joined forces with The Who to build a stunning replica Quadrophenia scooter, based on the new PX125. Better yet - they will be giving it away in a free competition, full details to be announced soon. MODifications include whitewall tyres, one-off retro graphics, chrome kit, screen, mod-style extra mirrors & even a faux fur-covered seat.
