Everyone loves the Police Academy movies. Every character is perfect in their own way, and the actors who portrayed them will forever be kings of comedy.
Today, Charles 'Bubba' Smith, who played Moses Hightower (who was a florist before he became a cop), was found dead in his home. He was 67. At present, it appears as though he died from natural causes, but a coroner is investigating regardless.
The 6ft 7ins gentle giant started his career as a defense end in the National Football League for the Baltimore Colts in 1967. He played for nine seasons, winning the Superbowl in that time, before changing to acting in the early 1970's.
After landing the role of Cadet Moses Hightower in 1984, he appeared in all but one of the seven sequels.
A naturally gifted athelete and a naturally gifted actor; there will never be another like him.
