Conan The Barbarian is returning. But he doesn’t look like Arnie this time...

Production is set to start imminently on the planned reboot of the Conan movies, which will see the new film going back to the Robert E Howard books that inspired the original Arnold Schwarzenegger films.

There’s no Arnie this time around, with Jason Momoa signed up to take the title role. And it’s also now been revealed at Variety that Rose McGowan has signed on the dotted line too. She’s going to be playing a half-human, half-witch. All good.

The rest of the cast? Conan’s dad is set to be played by Ron Perlman, after Mickey Rourke apparently quit the project. Meanwhile, Stephen Lang (Avatar) is also on board, along with Khalar Singh (G.I. Joe).

Marcus Nispel is directing, and the film is set for release next year.
