Katherine Hamnett

What’s the ‘E’ for? Try ‘ethical’. The 1980s conscience-monger returns to menswear this spring.

Green ‘Bring Back God’ print T-shirt, £40
Now qualifying for heritage status, Hamnett’s slogan T-shirts (as worn by Frankie Goes To Hollywood and Wham!) are 1980s design classics, and the new ‘Bring Back God’ version does it for us. The collection also includes crisp shirts, macs and Harringtons – all dead fanciable. Everything is produced using pesticide and chlorine-free cotton, and transported ‘slow’ in keeping with eco-thinking. KH also has a no-China policy, due to its trade union ban. Despite this, Kath still cites making people look great as her main objective. So, just say no to looking shite!
