The throwback is led by the red Harrington jacket, as worn by James Dean, with plain white tee and dirty ‘Lee 101’ jeans, in Rebel Without A Cause. Other ‘Lee 101’-wearing icons have included Bob Dylan, Paul Newman and Marilyn Monroe.
Lee was founded in 1889, in Kansas City, by Henry David Lee. Together with Levi’s, it is a true godfather of denim.
In 1924 Lee made the first denim jeans designed for cowboys and rodeo riders. They were named ‘Lee Riders’. We think that’s appropriate!
