Top Designer - Hugo Boss

From perky suiting to avant-garde colour schemes for knits, the designer has been cavorting about the scene with confidence.

We particularly enjoyed its selection of semi-dress shirts, and a streamlined denim collection that refused to pander to the fad-prone denim critics, holding its line admirably.

On entering the autumn/winter zone we note how Boss handled tweed so masterfully, and made us look slick in Donegal (not at all like Ralph from The Fast Show). Also enjoyed were the mannish rugged knits

Highly Commended - Miu Miu

We love this clever, plucky designer. Miuccia Prada’s a runaway free thinker and the retrospective hand of Miu Miu gives men an alternative roster of values – her men’s shoes and bags occupy a space of their own.
