Descendants of these adventurers went to the International Watch Company and requested a new-fangled wristwatch that could also operate as a marine chronometer. The result was the very large and open-faced ‘Portuguese’, with styling that reflects its maritime lineage. Despite recent ‘Portuguese incidents’, this is one of the most covetable watches a man can hanker after.
