Seiko - Kinetic Perpetual This dozy but swanky swine is cleverer than it looks A new piece of stylish ingenuity from Japanese technology purist Seiko. The ‘Kinetic Perpetual’ is an elegant evening watch with a dress-finish face and plain bezel. When this clever swine detects that it hasn’t been worn for 72 hours, it puts itself to sleep for up to four years, to conserve energy, like a desert frog, waiting for the monsoon. Its large date display functions even while it slumbers. It has separate dials for 24-hour time and months of the year, and once set the date stays accurate till the year 2100 (if not, teleport it to a Seiko hoverbot near you).
