Aftershave Balm (RRP £4.99)
Already impressed by the amazing Shaving Balm in our SENSITIVE SKIN SHAVING TEST (click here for that, people), I decided to collar the PR guy for the rest of the DSH range in a bid to uncover exactly what magic lurks in the Dead Sea. And apparently the answer is BLACK MUD, which is rich in natural minerals and sulphides, and thankfully, not rich in live worms and nextdoor cat turds.
Normally, when you've got something as 'fancy' and 'exotic' as 'minerals' from a specific sea stretch (in this case, a Salt Lake between Jordan and Israel), you'd expect the prices to be sky high. The DSH range are anything but. Apart from the Anti-Wrinkle cream - and anything anti-ageing normally scoops right into your pockets - everything else sets you back a mere fiver (RRP). They also promise 'luxurious products' designed to 'soothe, cleanse and soften' the skin.
One thing to note is how GENTLE and INOFFENSIVE these products seem. Nearly all - including the polite Hair and Body Shampoo - carry minimal smell. And unlike most FACIAL SCRUBS, DSH's tube of near-see-through substance didn't really 'tear' into your skin - those hard 'scrubby' bits were smaller and less prominent, but it still did a decent job. The upside is that you can probably use it more often than more powerful rivals.
Personally, I liked all the products on offer. Despite the 'Dead Sea' claim, they're completely non-gimmicky, feel fresh and are completely straightforward. Plus, if you've got a head like Sid James, the Anti-Wrinkle Cream claims to reduce the appearance of wrinkles by up to 27% after 30 days of treatment. Of course, 'up to 27%' could also include '0.3%', mind - if you're a cynical git...
