If, like me, you're a wet shave fanatic with wimpy, fragile skin and a history of niggly spots, this three-tier 'pick 'n mix' system could fit you to a tee...
1) EYRE BIOBOTANICS: TRIPLE ACTION FACIAL SCRUB, 150ml, (RRP: about £25)
This is one of those 'face creams' with little hard 'blackhead-beaters' in it, designed for 'an invigorating facial scrub to lift away dulling dead skin cells and pore-clogging dirt'.
In reality, it reeked of those old Biactol fash washes (in a polite way, of course) - which may have some reminiscing over those pubescent acne disasters - but it was a very effective scrub. Despite the price, it's also an exceptional pre-shave wash, albeit one that should be used two-three times a week max.
2) SIMPLE FOR MEN: SOOTHING FACE GEL, 200ml (RRP: about £3)
These bottle push-tops may have a habit of exploding all over the place and covering the sink in ever-growing foam, but on the brightside, I've yet to endure a single cut since using its 'basic' Shave Gel - which is designed specifically for sensitive skin.
3) DEADSEA HEALTHCARE: AFTERSHAVE FOR MEN, 125ml (RRP: about £4.99)
'Enriched with minerals from the dead sea', this barely-scented balm feels utterly ace on the skin - all for a few paltry coppers, too! Personally, I normally launch in for a face wash after a shave, but the cooling effect this delivers makes it well worth waiting just to lap up 15-20 mins of softy skin pleasantness.
RESULT: Smooth shave and not a single drop of blood in sight. Even with cheapo disposable razors too. Bingo!
