WHAT'S THE STORY? From the creators of Lara Croft, the oft-delayed Galleon has been six long years in the making and is not so much highly-anticipated as almost-forgotten-about. However, over half a decade's toil hasn't been in vain, as Toby Gard and his team have turned in an absolute stonker.
A compelling mix of Sinbad, Errol Flynn, Kung Fu films and Disney, Galleon sees you step into the deck shoes of sea-faring Captain Rhama, embarking on a quest involving an enchanted ship which could hold the key to the most powerful weapon in the universe. With a stylised graphical approach, you are effectively starring in a sumptuous cartoon, and it should appeal to anyone who's ever fancied splicing the mainbrace, whatever that is.
As you'd expect from the lead designer of the original Tomb Raider, there's a reasonable amount of lever-pulling to endure, but this is interspersed with enough fighting
and exploring to ensure that you're always kept busy.
TECHNICALLY SPEAKING? Buccaneer-based action-adventure.
