Game of the Week - The daddy of anarchic warfare returns in the predictably entitled Call Of Duty 3

WHAT'S THE STORY? Brill WW2 series droplands in D-Day Normandy conflict for total battlefield anarchy. Run screaming through stinky farmyards and piss-coloured streams, keeping observant eye out for Private Ryan, who isn't actually in it.

TECHNICALLY SPEAKING: Gritty, relentless first-person war shooter. Plays very, very similarly to its immediate predecessor. Sort of a good thing!

HAS GOT: Skies of raining bullets. Feelings of disorientation. Shouting everywhere. The distant rumble of rolling tanks. Top multiplayer.

HASN'T GOT: A pensive Tom Hanks sitting on a rock, rubbing his big Tom Hanks chin.

FREEBIES: We've got 5 X360 copies of this great game, to give away!. Just email your details to webmaster.maxim@dennis.co.uk and we'll enter you into our giveaway draw. Closing date: 30 November 2006.
