It’s the hiring and firing season in the world of American television, and several major shows are, as a result, reaching the end of their runs.
Coming to an end in the next week or two is 24, and once the TV show is done then it’s full steam ahead on the first big screen Jack Bauer adventure. Lost, too, finally reaches the end of its story this month, and won’t be back for more.
Several shows too have been given the axe by US TV executives. Heroes, FlashForward, Scrubs, Better Off Ted, Law & Order (but not the numerous spin-offs) and Trauma.
Returning for new series are Chuck, V, Fringe, Lie To Me, Supernatural, Smallville, Castle and, sigh, Glee. Expect new season runs of all of these to start in the US come the Autumn, and then to filter onto UK TV schedules thereafter….
