True Blood

Maxim Exclusive: HBO's vampire drama bloody-ing it up on UK screens from July. Disturbingly garnished video preview here!

Touted as an 'adult' Twilight - which basically means a vampire series with more blood, raunch, drama, and less dopiness - True Blood is the latest HBO TV hit, currently perched behind The Sopranos and Sex And The City in the ratings war.

Stephen Moyer stars as a 173-year-old vampire as humans and bloodsuckers co-exist together in a small-town American environment. Alan Ball of Six Feet Under fame directs, which should be a clue to just how much of a telly monster this might be...
