A team of armoured tanks known as Tanksis took London by storm this week as they invaded traditional taxi ranks and carried lucky commuters to work. The new kings of the road dwarfed black cabs and made buses give way as they steam rolled to their destinations.
Asking for no fares, the 16 tonne Abbot tanks battled the usual traffic chaos as they navigated the jammed up streets around famous London landmarks including, Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, Westminster, and even Buckingham Palace.
The first ever Tanksi rank appeared outside Waterloo Station to mark the launch of the game. The Tanksis will make an explosive return to the capital this morning (Friday), offering lucky commuters another opportunity to enjoy this unique way to travel across London.
Tom Goldberger from Battlefield 3 publisher, Electronic Arts, said:
“Tanksis have been brought to the Capital to make the urban battlefield that is London’s roads more of a joy than the daily chore they currently are. We wanted to launch Battlefield 3 in style and are looking forward to ferrying excited game fans and commuters around the city today.”
Battlefield 3 is released today (Friday 28th October) and is available on Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC!
