mophie
'An essential for even the most mildly phone-reliant'

The world has become gadget-obsessed. We have a gadget that filters through gadget press releases to separate the whimsical wheat from the technological chaff. Its light flashed when it spotted the mophie Juice Pack.

The mophie Juice Pack is dead handy, y’see, and something which ALL of us have craved at one point or another in the past. Why? Because it CHARGES YOUR PHONE WITHOUT NEEDING ACCESS TO A POWER POINT.

It’s that simple really. You charge the pack before you leave for the gig/festival/match/boozer, keep it on you and when you run out of charge during that oh-so-awkward moment during the evening/afternoon/celebrations you refrain from cursing and cussing, simply remove the pack from your pocket/bag, slip your phone into it and CARRY THE HELL ON WITH WHAT YOU WERE DOING.

It’s a little godsend, so it is, and totally indispensable for festivals and expeditions. We met a lady with a lovely Californian accent recently who gave us one for our ancient 3GS (it’s really ace - £20 on Amazon) and one for our girlfriend’s 4S (yes, they’ve got them too!) and she explained how it was received at this summer’s Bestival...

How did the juice case go down at Bestival?
- "The mophie Juice Pack Air and the mophie Juice Pack PLUS were very well received by festival go-ers. By day two a lot of campers were out of juice in their iPhone and were in need of a charge so they could find their mates. However, a lot of the charging stations were either unavailable or full by 11am and the campers preferred not to leave their phones for up to 6 hours. Which is understandable! The mophie Juice Pack Air or Juice Pack PLUS is the perfect solution for the festival go-er. They can slide their iPhone in, turn it on, and take their phone and the Juice Pack with them and it will charge their phone so they can continue to enjoy the festivals."

What were people saying about it?
- "Many people were excited because this is what they needed but didn’t know where they could purchase one or that they existed. A lot of my reactions resulted in this statement: 'What?! It is charging my phone right now? Ohhh! I just heard the battery turn back on! This is amazing, you’ve made my day!'"

What was your favourite story of the day?
- "A gentlemen came up to me early in the afternoon on Saturday and said that his phone was dead and he heard that we did power at Charge and Store (mophie). He said he had lost his mates the night before and couldn’t find them and his iPhone was dead. I told him we would be happy to help him. After explaining what we do, he purchased one and feverishly put it on his phone. When he heard the "bing" and  the battery sign pop on his screen, he started jumping up and down! Then he grabbed me and hugged me and said: "I think you just saved my life!… Can I buy you a drink?!"   I told him "mophie loves you! Go have fun, that’s what you’re here to do!"

There you have it, a gadget that solves a niggling problem and an essential for even the most mildly (or excessively) phone-reliant.

Designed for iPod and iPhone (including the new iPhone 4S) the juice pack universal line delivers a compact and lightweight power solution for busy Brits. The mophie juice pack plus is now available in black, cyan, magenta and yellow RIGHT HERE.
