Some of the world’s best footballers will be wearing the
boot from November onwards including Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard, Real Madrid’s
Karim Benzema, and Chelsea’s Michael Ballack. The Predator X will be available from 14 November in two
different versions; the classic Predator™ colours of black, red, and white, and
a new striking design of white, yellow, and black.
Zidane: With Predator X, I’ve been working with adidas to help lend my football experience to their product knowledge to truly deliver the next step in boot technology.
Rigorous player testing has been pivotal to the boot’s
development, none-more-so than Zinedine Zidane, who has worked with Adidas
Innovation Team (ait) from the start of the project.
Speaking at the launch of the boots Zidane said; “Having
worn Predators throughout my career, I’ve always been amazed with the continued
product development and what each new version of the boot bought to my game.
With Predator X, I’ve been working with adidas to help lend my football
experience to their product knowledge to truly deliver the next step in boot
technology. The Powerspine innovation ensures the boot will strike harder than
any boot in the market”.
A revolutionary centre to the boot called the Powerspine reduces
the reflex of the underside of the foot, minimising the energy lost when a
player strikes the ball, transferring this energy to ensure maximum connection
with the ball. The result of this innovation is an
additional 7% extra power versus the previous generation of Predator™ boots.
As with every Predator™, the boot has also been designed to add
‘swerve’ and ‘control’ and the Predator™ X uses bespoke technology to achieve
these goals. A Taurus leather core combined with Thermoform memory foam and Optifit
creates a lightweight fit that lasts. A newly designed Predator™ Zone,
containing a mix of rubber and silicon, increases swerve in all weather
conditions.
