The Carphone Warehouse will be the exclusive stockist of the Sony Ericsson W595 Ed Hardy handset when it launches this month, available for free on contract or for £149.95 on Pay As You Go.
Coupled with the slimline W595 handset, and living in a world of boring Blackberrys and moronic PDAs, we reckon Mr Audigier might just be able to carve out a little niche in this country after all.
It has been given a makeover by fashion icon and designer to the stars, Christian Audigier and, somewhat surprisingly, it actually looks the bizzo.
Cynics (you know who you are) may accuse us of jumping on the LA bandwagon here as we'll quite happily admit a lot of Mr Audigier's audacious gear just doesn't translate comfortably to these shores. His clothes are like sleeve tattoos, they just look better on Venice beach.
But there's something about this design that just feels right. Coupled with the slimline W595 handset, and living in a world of boring Blackberrys and moronic PDAs, we reckon Mr Audigier might just be able to carve out a little niche in this country after all.
Check out the pictures here and see for yourself. A decent technology/designer collaboration that doesn't feel horribly try-hard or dead poncey. It's a difficult thing to do, and Audigier and Sony have managed it very well here. So well done them.
