Plantronics also sounds like a bunch of do-gooder cartoon robots who save the earth and then dispense some sort of corny environmental message at the climax. But it’s not that either.
It is infact a company that is solely dedicated to making Bluetooth headsets. Dull eh? Well, yes. But ever-so-slightly less dull than their competitors.
In 1969, you see, it was a Plantronics headset that carried the historic first words from the moon: “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind,” from Neil Armstrong. So NASA used them. Which isn’t a bad recommendation.
In fact, the headset traps sound and minimises wind noise so effectively, the marketing bod who showed them to us didn’t even hear us open the reception door to greet him, or even feel the breeze of it opening on his enthusiastic cheeks. He just carried on talking on it... for ages...
What a headset. What a guy.
The Plantronics Voyager PRO is available for £79.99 at www.plantronics.com.
