Give Blood. Out Now
Brakes - Album of the Week

Rating:

WHAT'S THE STORY? Cheeky lo-fi project involving folk from British Sea Power, Electric Soft Parade and The Tenderfoot.

TO BE HONEST: There was a time when country music was croonin' over lovehearts an' slapping the bums of girls called Loreena. Now it's about speedin' things up, nickin' bits of Roxy Music an' Weezer, generally bein' a bit darned sly, an' makin' a rootin' tootin' punkified indie sound that makes you scream "yee-haw" like a British Willie Nelson with a mohawk.

TECHNICALLY SPEAKING: Kings Of Leon based in Brighton.

LISTEN OUT FOR: Bobbling single 'All Night Disco Party'.

FREEBIES: Grab yourself one of 5 absolutely free albums we have to give away. Just email your details to webmaster.maxim@dennis.co.uk and we'll enter you into the draw. Closing date: 13th July 2005
