To Be Honest: No matter what people say about Craig Nicholls - and we always say he's a whiny Kurt Cobain never-will-be, who needs to comb his hair and stop being such a little brat before we stab him repeatedly with his own crayons - here's proof that he can write songs as well as be profoundly annoying.
Let's ignore folk-tinged numbers like the title track, which sounds like a rejected early draft of the Home And Away theme tune, and concentrate on what The Vines do best: that whole catchy, screamy, shouty thing.
This album's obvious hit single is 'Ride', an impressive opening salvo that is soon topped by their best song to date, 'She's Got Something To Say', which give nods to The Monkees while waving its enormous genitals around. A mention must also be made of, oh yes, 'Fuck The World', which is as silly and terrific as you'd imagine. You won't be playing this in 20 years time, but for now it's a damn good way to spend 15 quid and ensure you've got something to thrash around to for a few months.
Listen out for: The song to do the first dance at your wedding reception to. Sing along, everybody: 'C'mon, fuck the world!'
Play: When you've woken up drunk with a belt around your neck, a scary-looking woman in your bed and Rolf Harris being sick into his didgeridoo in the corner.
