An inspired second album from this Manchester trio, who take on the usual bitter-sweet pop song from all angles. Songwriter Johnny Bramwell's spikey lyrics twist and turn to a background of Spanish guitars, white noise and rattling chains. At their best, as on the soulful, trombone-led 'The Same Deep Water As Me', they are utterly sublime.
