Let's face it, there's no shortage of NY indie rock quintet's around. But the French Kicks' new album One Time Bells stands way above the rest. Their riffy, lo-fi guitars are perfectly foiled by Nick Stumpf's honey-punk vocals, and its well scultped production lets these 3- minute pop ditties shine through with effortless charm. Hardly world-changing but always entertaining.
