Few mourned the end of the pompous wally the Smashing Pumpkins had become, and Billy Corgan's new band show no great reinvention for the most punchable man in rock. Still wandering between romantic ballads and psychedelic soundscapes his songwriting is now quite tiresome. There are some nice moments here, but Corgan's drifts into pretension soon infuriate.
