We are The Pipettes screech these three polka-dotted lovelies from Brighton

WHAT'S THE STORY? Cute girlies make throwback pastiche to '60s girl groups. Does for The Shangri-La's what The Darkness did for Def Leppard.

ANY GOOD? The first four tracks are spilling with corny 'la la la', sugary greatness. We like those ones. Things then take a sharp turn down Mediocrity Lane, but we have our Y chromosomes so we can just perv over the pics instead.

LISTEN OUT FOR: 'Why Did You Stay?'. It's what Buddy Holly might've written if he was a tranny in lipstick.
