MAXIM: Hey miss! How are you and what's going on in the world of Little Donatella?
DONATELLA: It's been a crazy year for me, I've really stepped away from primarily doing in front of camera work and have been doing lots of behind the scenes stuff and I absolutely love it.
MAXIM: What inspired you to get into music, and of all scenes, why Grime?
DONATELLA: I've loved music for as long as I can remember, my family have always been majorly into music and when I first started raving Garage was my music of choice. I constantly listened to all the pirate stations, and then Garage kind of naturally merged into Grime and I just loved the energy of it. I began presenting and after a few years I knew I wanted to take it seriously so I thought it was perfect to combine my love of music and my presenting.
MAXIM: You're currently the in-house presenter at top Urban TV channel Flava TV, how are things going over there?
DONATELLA: I absolutely love love love being at Flava! It's the happiest I've been in any presenting role I've done previously. They allow me to write my own questions and do things in the style I feel comfortable with and the response has been great. I also help out with play listing the more underground videos and I love that Flava support newer or unsigned artists. I’ve assisted our brand manager Sarah on loads of new really exciting shows that are coming out very soon, people are going to love what we have in store.
MAXIM: Sounds great! Let’s get a bit personal; who are the top 3 sexiest (in order!) MCs in the game and why?
DONATELLA: Haha I'd say, Mz Bratt because she's just beautiful, No Lay cause she just so fierce and Shystie for her overall swag.
MAXIM: Talking of MC’s, you're also managing up-coming Grime MC Marger, how would you describe his sound?
DONATELLA: His sound is distinctive and nothing like I've heard for a while. He's able to get hype when required on sets and at raves but he also manages to paint beautiful pictures with his words on his releases. The forthcoming material that he says is going to blow people away.
MAXIM: Donatella 2012, the calendar. Tell us how this came about, and where the inspiration came from for the theme/look?
DONATELLA: Like I said, this year I've focused much more on the business side of my role, and a lot of my supporters were frustrated that they didn't have as much access to me and my work. There was a time I was presenting online, on TV and on radio and doing regular shoots for my website, but I had to put all of that on the back burner while I focused. The calendar was something that my Twitter followers and Facebook supporters had been asking about for years and it really is entirely for them. As far as the look goes, I wanted it to represent who I am at this stage in my life, I wanted it to be feminine without being too cutesy, but also something my boyfriend and my Dad could be proud of and I'm happy with the outcome, all the months show different sides of my personality.
MAXIM: As one of the top girls in the scene, name three other top girls that come to your mind straight away?
DONATELLA: I'd have to say Hattie Collins, Hyperfrank and Jasmine Dotiwala.
MAXIM: We'd like to know abit more about you, we're taking you out for the night, what are you drinking?
DONATELLA: If we're clubbing it's vodka redbull, if we're dining then definitely a good red wine.
MAXIM: At the end of a good night out drinking and when you've enjoyed yourself, what would be a great end to the evening?
DONATELLA: Something naughty, like chips on the way home it has to be done, then defo some snuggling up to my gorgeous man!
