With the recent chart success from UK stars such as Wretch 32, Tinie Tempah, Dappy, Tinchy Stryder etc, UK urban music is fully in the mix of its industry takeover. Our once favourite underground artists are now mainstream acts putting out credible music and hitting number 1 in the national charts. We have to confess we love the state of the UK music scene at the moment. The scene has grown on a whole with enterprises like Grimedaily, RWD Mag and SBTV turning their hobbies into commercial businesses to independent labels such as Disturbing London, Defenders Ent and Dirtee Stank giving the majors a run for their money.
UK Rap is at an all-time high, and South London acts are putting their stamp all over the scene almost identical to what the East London kids did with Grime back in the day. Here at Maxim, being strong reps of the average horny, hairy, hyperactive male, we decided to get up close and personal with four rappers that tick those boxes and are tipped to be the next big thing...
Let's meet the lads!
The hood’s favourite rapper FemFel recently released his debut album entitled “Eye’s Closed”. He is a true representation of the UK Rap scene and remains humble whilst respected by most.

GFrsh, signed to Tinie Tempah’s label Disturbing London his EP entitled “Purgatory” is out now! He’s known and loved for his high-class style and grippin’ tales of the Frsh life style.

Jack the lad rapper, Little Dee is part of the OGs collective (P Money, Blacks, Jendor etc). Though a Grime mc, Littles is also a rapper well within his own right. His descriptive stories and creative music prove he is much more than just a rapper, but a potential album selling artist.

Although still young, Blade Brown is already a veteran in the UK rap scene; he has dominated the streets for a while with mixtapes such as “Bags & Boxes”, “Financial Times” & “Best of Blade”. He is currently in the studio creating volume 2 of Bags and Boxes which is most definitely highly anticipated if his fans reactions online are anything to go by! Look out for “Don’t you ever go” shot in NYC, coming to your screens soon!

We ask the lads a few questions as we were dying to know their take on GROUPIE LOVE! Something we all need at some point or another in our lives.
Maxim: What’s your definition of a groupie?
Fem: That’s a hard one. I would say the definition of a groupie is a CRAZED fan.
GFrsh: Yeah, someone who is attracted to you just solely because of your music.
Little Dee: Haha groupie’s come in groups that love pop groups, they do groupie things with a group of people and shop on groupon..
Blade: (Laughs) a groupie is someone who is attracted to someone because of their status. They could be a rapper, film star, singer whatever.
Maxim: Agreed. What’s the most outrageous groupie encounter you’ve ever had?
Fem: A young female asked me to sign her arm, so she could trace it and get it tattooed! That was at Ed Sheeran’s Reading tour date, it was hilarious.
Little Dee: I was at show in Oxford and some guy wanted me to sign his girlfriend’s breast and take a picture next to her, I wasn’t complaining!
Blade: Groupies are mad, the things I’ve witnessed and not taken part in is crazy! After party’s in hotels, Wild. Groupies also send really forward messages on twitter, that’s always funny.
GFrsh: I’m not the kiss and tell type BUT I would have to say, most outrageous encounter would be the after parties backstage. Naughty stuff!
Maxim: Wow, these ladies sound shocking! If you could have any woman in the world play your main girl in a video, who would it be?
Fem: Ahhhhh, Jessica Alba, so I could kiss those lips!
Little Dee: Hard one, but would have to be Kat Slater from Eastenders. That way I can bring my mates in there with me! [everyone cracks up laughing]
Blade: Rosa Acosta, what you know about them girls? Hottie.
GFrsh: Oooohhh hard one, Would have to say Angel Lola Love. She’s beautiful.
