MAXIM: Sup man? Long time no speak! Been a while since we last spoke. We're sorry for that. Flowers are on the way. What have you been up to in your/ our absence?
LABRINTH: Just working on this album! I know it’s been a long wait for my new stuff but the second single is coming and we're going in - hell for leather!
MAXIM: Who has been your favourite person to work with?
LABRINTH: I love them all. I love everyone that I've worked with. But if I had to say? Hmmm there are quite a few... of course Tinie but my favorite and the nicest is by far the wonderful Ms Dynamite.
MAXIM: Did you ask Simon Cowell to lend you a fiver yet?
LABRINTH: He asked me for one! (How do you think he became so rich!)
MAXIM: Tell us about your single. What's it like? Will it be as funktastic as Let The Sun Shine?
LABRINTH: It's called Earthquake. I've taken it back to basics and I'm going in hard, Let The Sun Shine was for the ladies, the next single is for the gully man dem! (We don’t know what this means –ed)
MAXIM: You've been hitting the live side of music hard as well. What's that been like?
LABRINTH: Loving it, loving it! Learning more every show and its great to road test so many tracks from the album and get live feedback. I take that straight back to the studio!
MAXIM: Top moment of the recent shows? What's been your favourite show/festival to play?
LABRINTH: It’s gotta be Wireless. People on peoples shoulders and seeing everyones smiling faces on a super hot day. It made Let The Sunshine a pretty special moment. It was outstanding... emotional!
MAXIM: Apart from Earthquake, is there anything else of yours we should be looking out for?
LABRINTH: ‘Neva Soft’, Ms Dynamite’s new track which is out late August. Done a few bits for my boy Wretch too. Look out for that and loads more in the pipeline!
MAXIM: Anyone you're producing for that you're EXCEEDINGLY pleased with and demand we check out?
LABRINTH: Well I'm not producing for him, but a producer you should definitely check out is Rafi. He (and I will be too) works with a sick singer called Etta Bond. I will be working with them soon too! They are part of the fam and they won't disappoint! I love them man.
Earthquake will be out this Autumn!
