Released last month on download, King of Limbs finally releases on CD for those who enjoy the feel of hard plastic in their paws. Sometimes described as ‘another Thom Yorke solo wankfest’, Radiohead’s eighth opus is certainly filled with Yorke’s electronic, Kid A oddness, where guitars are alien unless pumped through a hard-drive of otherworldly bleeps and blurts. While no longer demanding of those bewildered reactions that past Radiohead albums have commonly generated, it’s still blessed with occasional hidden, Warp/Eno-inspired magic that becomes apparent on repeated listens, especially in its sumptuous three closers.
