Along with a quartet of pouting, Oasis-aping twats called Brother, The Vaccines are the excitable music press’ new indie darlings for 2011. They sound like The Editors’ singer stretching his baritone over songs penned by Glasvegas on the wave of an MDMA high, meaning that originality certainly isn’t their forte. However, as single ‘Post Break-Up Sex’ and the echoing ‘Blow It Up’ have proved, carving memorable melodies over reverb-y guitar walls is minimal sweat for the London post-punkers. Such immediate and trendy derivativeness is sure to be played to buggery across student radio and Top Man stores!
