Astonishingly, this is midlands geezer Mike Skinner’s fifth (and purportedly final) album after a productive ten-years of wry, observant ‘talks’ about fancying fit birds in chip shops. According to his MySpace blog in 2008, he’s “f***ing sick” of The Streets name, and wants a jolly retirement at the age of, um, 32. Well, if this is ‘the end’, it’s certainly some send-off, lurching from sweet, soulful choruses, moisty-eyed relationship dramas and light, toe-tappy grooves. Buy it, listen to it and get emotional!
